Y'all. It's Halloween. And for the first time in a long time, I'm not running around trying to be ten different people at once.
If you know me, you know I say yes to everything. The podcast. The business. Being there for Chloe and Grayson. Checking on my parents. Showing up for friends. Showing up for strangers in my DMs who are hurting. I love it... but somewhere along the way I forgot that "everyone" also includes me.
This fall knocked me on my butt a little, if I'm being honest. I hit this wall in October where I was exhausted in a way sleep couldn't fix. You know that kind of tired? The kind that lives in your bones and your heart. I was snapping at people I love. I was crying in my car in parking lots. And I kept telling myself I just needed to push through.
Here's the thing about pushing through. It works until it doesn't. My body has been through it — the endometriosis, the hormones, the weight stuff I've been so open with y'all about. And my body has a way of waving a white flag when my mind won't. So this month I actually listened for once.

I started saying no. Small no's at first. No to the event I didn't want to go to. No to the text I didn't have the energy to answer at 11pm. No to the guilt I carry around like a second purse. And something wild happened... the world kept spinning. Nobody left me. The people who matter understood. And I got a little piece of myself back.
“You can't pour from an empty cup, and I was out here trying to pour from a cup I never even filled.”
I've leaned hard on my faith this season too. There's this prayer I keep coming back to — just asking God to help me trust that rest isn't quitting. That slowing down isn't failing. I grew up believing my worth was tied to how much I could do for everybody else. I'm unlearning that. It's slow. But I chose grace this time instead of grinding myself into the ground.
Part of taking care of myself has been getting back to the basics of how I actually feel. My energy was in the gutter, so I got honest with myself about what my body needed instead of ignoring it. For me that's included working with the team to get my levels right — little things like B12 genuinely made a difference in how I showed up each day. Building Good Girl Rx came from exactly this: I wanted women to have somewhere to go when they're tired of being dismissed and told it's all in their head.
Chloe asked me the other day why I seemed "less stressed lately," and that about broke me in the best way. These kids watch everything. If I want to raise a girl who knows her worth and sets her boundaries, I have to be a woman who actually does it. Not just preaches it. Lives it.
So here's my Halloween wish for you, the real one. Stop dressing up as the version of you that holds everything together for everyone. Take the mask off. Be the messy, tired, healing, hopeful you. That version is enough. She always was.
I love y'all more than you know. Thank you for letting me be real in this space. Go rest. Go say no to something today. And save some candy for me. xo, Savannah
