Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist — it mimics a hormone your body already makes after eating. It works in three ways: (1) it tells your brain you’re full so you stop eating sooner, (2) it slows the rate food leaves your stomach so fullness lasts longer, and (3) it quiets the "food noise" and cravings that drive overeating. In clinical trials of branded semaglutide, patients lost an average of around 15% of their body weight over 68 weeks when combined with diet and exercise.

It contains the same active ingredient (semaglutide) but it is not the same product. Ozempic® and Wegovy® are FDA-approved brand-name medications made by Novo Nordisk. Our compounded semaglutide is prepared by U.S. state-licensed compounding pharmacies and is not individually FDA-approved. Compounded medications are legal when prescribed by a licensed provider and are typically more affordable. Your provider will discuss the differences during your intake.

Semaglutide is not appropriate for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), anyone who is pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, or anyone with a history of serious allergic reaction to semaglutide.
