Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, and Zepbound® are FDA-approved brand-name medications manufactured by Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are different products — prepared by independent, U.S. state-licensed compounding pharmacies. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or quality. They are not the same as, interchangeable with, or substitutes for FDA-approved branded products. An independent licensed provider determines what, if anything, may be appropriate for eligible patients.

Some patients notice reduced appetite and less "food noise" within the first 1–2 weeks. Clinical trial data from FDA-approved branded medications (SURMOUNT for tirzepatide, STEP for semaglutide) applies only to the FDA-approved branded products studied and does not apply to compounded formulations.
