What to eat on your injection day (to feel your best)

What to eat on your injection day (to feel your best)

Your injection day doesn't need a special diet. It needs a predictable one. Simple foods, enough protein, steady hydration, and no experiments. That's it. Here's the template.

Note

Everyone's injection day feels different

Some women feel almost nothing on injection day. Others notice mild appetite changes or slower digestion. Pay attention to your own pattern for the first 3–4 weeks — that's the real meal plan.

The plate

MealProteinCarbFatWhy
BreakfastGreek yogurt or eggsBerries or oatsA little almond butterEasy on digestion; protein first
LunchGrilled chickenRice or quinoaAvocado slicePredictable, familiar, bland enough
DinnerWhite fish or tofuRoasted vegetablesOlive oilLighter, low-fiber if needed
SnacksCottage cheeseBananaHandful of nutsProtein + slow carb combos
A friendly injection-day plate

Foods to go easy on

  • Fried or heavy-cream anything (slows digestion further)
  • Huge salads — hard to finish and low on protein
  • Alcohol (especially on the first few injection days)
  • Sugary drinks, including most smoothies
Woman choosing simple food in her kitchen
Simple and predictable beats adventurous on injection day — every time.
“Injection day is not the day to try the new spicy restaurant. It's the day you're nice to your stomach.”

Tip

Hydration matters more than you think

On a GLP-1, gastric emptying slows — which means fluid also moves slower. Aim for a water bottle before noon, another by dinner. Add electrolytes if you're sweating or feel sluggish.
