July Reset: What I Learned When I Stopped Pretending I Had It All Together

Savannah Chrisley

Written by Savannah Chrisley

Published July 25, 2026

Y'all, it's the last full week of July and I'm sitting on my back porch in Nashville with a cold sweet tea, watching the sun do that thing it does in the evening where everything turns gold. And I just felt like I needed to be honest with you today. Not the polished version. The real one.

Summer has a way of making us feel like we're supposed to be thriving. Bikini bodies, beach trips, everybody glowing on the internet. And listen... I love a good beach day. But this summer has been a whole lot of quiet work behind the scenes. The kind nobody claps for.

If you've followed my journey, you know I've been through it with my endometriosis. There was a season where I gained 40 lbs in like three months and I couldn't figure out why my body felt like a stranger. I remember standing in my closet, crying, thinking what is happening to me. I've said it out loud before — I was almost 160 lbs and I felt so far from myself.

Slow evenings on the porch have become my favorite kind of therapy.

The season I stopped fighting my body

Here's what changed for me this year. I stopped treating my body like the enemy. I stopped punishing it for changing and started listening to what it actually needed. Some of that was therapy — and I will scream from the rooftops how much therapy has given me back. Some of it was faith. And some of it was finally getting real support instead of white-knuckling it alone.

For me that meant working with my doctors on my hormones and, yes, exploring a GLP-1 through our weight loss program. This is exactly why I built GoodGirlRx — because I was so tired of women feeling ashamed for needing help. Needing support isn't weakness, y'all. It's wisdom. I've also been leaning on my B12 because summer exhaustion is real and mama's got a lot of little people counting on her.

“You are not behind. You are becoming. And becoming is messy, and holy, and worth every single tear.”
— Savannah

Chloe turned into such a little woman this summer, and Grayson keeps reminding me that grace isn't just something I give myself — it's something I have to model. Because those two are watching how I talk about my body. They're listening to whether I speak to myself like I'd speak to someone I love. That right there? Game changer. I refuse to hand them my old insecurities.

The kitchen's usually chaos, but it's my favorite kind of chaos.

So if you're in the middle of your own hard season this July — if the mirror hasn't been your friend, if your hormones feel like a rollercoaster, if you're just tired — I want you to hear me. You don't have to have it all together to be worthy of feeling good. Start where you are. One honest step. That's it.

  • Talked to someone this week — a friend, a therapist, anyone. Isolation lies to us.
  • Moved my body in a way that felt like love, not punishment.
  • Ate the meal without the guilt spiral.
  • Reminded myself that grace is a daily choice, not a one-time thing.

I'm not the same girl I was two summers ago. I'm softer with myself now. Stronger, too. And I promise you, the version of you on the other side of this — she's going to be so proud you didn't give up. With love, Savannah xo
