Y'all. It's that time of year again. The leaves are doing their thing, Chloe's begging for pumpkin everything, and I've got a candle burning that smells like a bakery I can't afford. And somewhere between pouring my coffee and watching Grayson pretend he's too cool for a hayride... it hit me. I'm not apologizing anymore. Not for my body. Not for my voice. Not for taking up space in rooms I earned my way into.
If you've followed my mess of a beautiful life for any amount of time, you know I've been real honest. I told the whole world I was almost 160 pounds. I told you I gained 40 pounds in like three months because my body was going through all kinds of sh-t with my endometriosis. And I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that was easy to say out loud. It wasn't. But every single time I tell the truth, somebody in my DMs says me too. And that's the whole point.

Here's the thing about fall. It's the one season that literally lets things go. The trees don't cling. They don't apologize for dropping what's no longer serving them. They just... release. And I keep thinking, why has that been so hard for me? Why did I spend years holding onto a version of myself that stopped fitting a long time ago?
Small body. Small opinions. Small needs. I thought if I just took up less room, nobody could hurt me and everybody would stay. Spoiler alert, y'all: that's not how it works. The people worth keeping love you at your fullest. And God doesn't call us to shrink. He calls us to show up. Scars, soft belly, loud laugh and all.
“You don't have to disappear to be loved. You never did. I just wish somebody had told me sooner.”
My health journey has been a whole rollercoaster and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. Some months I feel strong and clear and like myself. Other months the endo flares and my hormones go sideways and I cry in the car for no reason at a red light on Hillsboro. Both are allowed. That's what I had to learn in therapy — healing isn't a straight line, it's a bunch of circles you keep walking until one day the circle gets a little wider.
This fall I've been leaning hard into the things that actually make me feel like me. Moving my body because it's kind, not punishment. Prioritizing my energy. A lot of y'all ask what I'm doing, and honestly — it's not a secret, it's just consistency. For me, that's included working with doctors I trust, and I built Good Girl Rx so other women could have that same access without the shame spiral. My B12 has been clutch this season too — the days get shorter and my energy tanks, and that little boost is real.
I'm raising Chloe in a world that's gonna tell her a thousand times a day to be smaller, quieter, prettier, less. And I will be damned if she grows up watching me apologize for existing. So I'm doing the work out loud. Imperfectly. In my flannel with my cold coffee. Because she's watching, and so is every woman who feels like she's the only one struggling. You're not. We're all just doing our best to let fall do its thing and let the old stuff fall away.
So this is your permission slip, from me to you. Take up the space. Order the pumpkin thing. Say the true thing. Love your body in the body you have today, not the one you're waiting on. I'm right here doing it with you, one messy honest Saturday at a time. With love, Savannah xo
Whatever your version of showing up looks like — I built Good Girl Rx so you'd never have to do it alone. Start whenever you're ready.
